For the week of May 24, 2012 through May 31, 2012

 

Home Invasion:

 

400 block of N. Main, 5-24-12:  Complainant reported hearing a knock at her front door but did not answer it.  Several minutes later the complainant reported hearing a noise coming from her bedroom.  The complainant looked in the bedroom and observed a suspect opening the blinds to the window and attempting to climb into the home.  The complainant yelled and the suspect fled the area on foot.  Royal Oak officers located the suspect a few blocks away and placed him under arrest for Home Invasion.  12-13087

 

1300 block of S. Washington, 5-25-12:  Complainant reported an unknown suspect entered his residence through his unlocked garage door and stole his I-Pad and an undisclosed amount of currency.   12-13221

 

3100 block of Harvard, 5-30-12:  Complainant reported an unknown suspect attempted to pry his door wall off its track to gain entry to his home.   12-13746

 

Larceny:

 

American House, 1900 N. Washington, 5-25-12:  Complainant reported an unknown suspect stole her cell phone from her work area.   12-13195

 

Third Street and Troy Street, 5-26-12:  Complainant reported an unknown suspect stole his 2009 Yamaha motorcycle.  12-13376

 

Avenue Deli, 32725 Woodward Avenue, 5-30-12:  Complainant reported she left the business unsecured for a short period of time.  Upon her return she noticed currency missing from the register and her purse lying in the parking lot.  Upon inspecting the purse it was discovered her wallet missing.  12-13639

 

LA Fitness, 25352 Woodward Avenue, 5-30-12:  Complainant reported an unknown suspect stole his I-Phone from his duffel bag.  12-13760

 

Larceny from Automobile:

Sears Driving School, 1000 block of E. Eleven Mile, 5-24-12:  Complainant reported an unknown suspect stole the catalytic converters of off a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier and a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu.  12-13102

 

1500 block of E. Lincoln, 5-28-12:  Complainant reported an unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger window on his Jeep and stole the in-dash GPS unit.  12-13499

 

Emagine Theatre, 200 N. Main, 5-29-12:  Complainant reported an unknown suspect entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her purse and several articles of clothing.           12-13595

 

 

Property Damage:

 

1500 Lexington, 5-25-12:  Complainant reported an unknown suspect smashed the driver’s side mirror on his vehicle.   12-13194

 

200 block of W. Kenilworth, 5-27-12:  Complainant reported an unknown suspect damaged his fence.   12-13432

 

700 block of N. Vermont, 5-28-12:  Complainant reported an unknown suspect threw a landscape rock through the rear window of his vehicle.  12-13513

 

700 block of Baldwin, 5-28-12:  Complainant reported an unknown suspect threw a landscape rock through the rear window of his vehicle.  12-13510

 

1100 block of N. Campbell, 5-29-12:  Complainant reported an unknown suspect broke the side window of her apartment.  It is unclear if the damage was intentional or accidental.  12-13670

 

Other Incidents:

3000 block of W. Thirteen Mile, 5-24-12:  Royal Oak officers responded to a Domestic Assault involving two sisters.  Upon arrival the officers determined one of the sisters had been stabbed in the side by the other sister.  The suspect was taken into custody for Felonious Assault.  The victim was transported to William Beaumont Hospital for treatment.  12-13104

300 block of E. Windermere, 5-24-12:  Complainant reported finding two juveniles at the rear of his property smoking marijuana.  Royal Oak officers responded and arrested the suspects for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.            12-13083

4900 block of Cara Court, 5-27-12:  Complainant reported his nephew, while visiting, stole several valuable family heirlooms. The complainant attempted to stop his nephew but was pushed to the ground.  Additionally, the suspect ripped the phone from the wall so the complainant could not call the police. The suspect left the area and was later arrested at his home in Farmington Hills for Strong Armed Robbery.   12-13457

Troy Street and Pingree, 5-30-12:  Royal Oak officers discovered an unknown person placed graffiti on the playground equipment.  12-13700

Belle Tire, 31053 Woodward Avenue, 5-30-12:  Royal Oak officers responded to Belle Tire to investigate a suspicious vehicle.  When Belle Tire employees arrived for work they discovered a vehicle occupied by a lone occupant.  The employees reported that it appeared as if he was bleeding from the head.  Officers arrived on scene and discovered the victim had succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head.   Royal Oak detectives responded to the scene and determined this incident to be an apparent suicide.  During the investigation, detectives located a suicide note in which the victim also took responsibility for a homicide in Detroit which occurred on 5-29-12.  Detroit Homicide detectives confirmed that the deceased was in fact the suspect in their homicide.           12-13691
