Breaking and Entering:

2900 block of Woodslee, 9-17-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered his condemned home and stole a laptop computer and a flat screen television.  The home was condemned after if caught fire during a storm in August.  11-3428

Home Invasion:

1000 block of E. Lincoln, 9-15-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered her home while she was out of town and stole several pieces of jewelry.  11-3411

4100 block of W. Thirteen Mile, 9-15-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered his apartment through a side window and stole several video games.  A neighbor reported that she had observed a suspicious black male in his late teens walking near the apartment during the afternoon.  11-3412

300 block of Park, 9-16-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect broke the glass to the back door.  It is unclear if entry to the home was made and no property is missing.  11-3422

Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile

2530 Rochester, 9-19-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole her 1998 Plymouth Breeze sometime over the last month.  11-3453

William Beaumont Hospital, 3601 W. Thirteen Mile, 9-19-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole his 2002 Chrysler Sebring.  11-3465

Larceny from Automobile

1300 block of Hoffman, 9-18-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole the in-dash GPS unit from his Jeep Cherokee.  11-3446

2300 E. Fourth Street, 9-18-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole the in-dash GPS unit from his Jeep Commander.  It appears as if the suspect used a wedge in the door in order to get the vehicle unlocked.  11-3451

4300 block of Delemere, 9-19-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered his secured business parking lot and broke into several of the work trucks.        11-3454

1800 block of Parmenter, 9-21-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect enter one of his work trucks and stole a concrete saw.  11-3489

Other Incidents:

Whittier Park, Farnum and Alexander, 9-15-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole his green Trek mountain bike.  11-3481

Meijer’s, 5150 Coolidge, 9-16-11:  The complainant reported that she was approached by a heavy set white female who asked her about different types of tea.  When the complainant turned around she noticed a white male, 5’8” tall and thin build walking away from her cart.  The complainant realized later that the male had stolen an undisclosed amount of currency from her purse.  11-3421

 

Fifth Street and Main Street, 9-16-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole his silver Treck mountain bike which was locked to a bike rack.  11-3424

 

Detroit Zoo, 8400 Ten Mile, 9-17-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole her I-Phone. 11-3430

 

Burger King, 1711 N. Main, 9-17-11:  The complaint reported that an unknown suspect used a counterfeit Twenty dollar bill at the store.  11-3417

500 block of Curry, 9-20-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole her silver Trek mountain bike.  11-3472

2900 block of N. Vermont, 9-21-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect smashed out the back window of his vehicle.  11-3483

3300 block of Rochester Rd. Homicide

On September 21st, at 5:00 p.m., Royal Oak detectives along with officers from the Clinton Township Police Department and the Detroit Violent Crimes Task Force arrested a person of interest in Clinton Township. The arrested person’s identity is being withheld at this time.

3300 block of Rochester Rd. Homicide

The Royal Oak Police Department is continuing the homicide investigation.  The victim has been identified as Ranae Ann Chupick, a 41-year-old resident of Royal Oak.  The victim died from multiple stab wounds to the chest. 

The victim was attacked and killed inside her apartment.    

Investigators found no signs of forced entry into the victim’s apartment.

PRESS RELEASE

Royal Oak Police Department-Deputy Chief Gordon Young

On September 19, 2011, at 9:42 pm, the Royal Oak Police Department responded to the 3300 block of Rochester Rd. on a report of a suspicious death. The deceased, a 41-year-old female and resident of the apartment, was found by co workers who came to the apartment to check on the victim when she did not show up for work.

This is an apparent homicide and there was evidence at the scene of a physical encounter.  An autopsy is scheduled for this morning with the Oakland County Medical Examiner.
