For the week of September 8, 2011 through September 15, 2011

 

Breaking and Entering:

3000 block of Greenfield, 9-8-11:  The complainant reported that after spending a few days away from home, an unknown suspect stole her passport from her apartment.  11-3313

600 block of N. Gainsborough, 9-11-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole lawn equipment from the storage shed located in his backyard.  11-3360

Home Invasion:

800 block of Knowles, 9-10-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered his home and stole several power tools from the basement.  The home had been unoccupied for a few weeks prior to the crime.  11-3340

Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile

900 block of Symes, 9-8-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole his 1999 light blue Honda Civic from the front of his home.  11-3310

600 block of Symes, 9-10-11:  The complainant reported that she observed her boyfriend’s vehicle leaving her home when she arrived home from work.  She followed the vehicle and realized that the driver was not her boyfriend. She quickly returned home and called the police.  The suspect is described as a white male with blonde hair.  The stolen vehicle is a light blue 1988 Oldsmobile.  11-3337

100 block of E. Thirteen Mile, 9-10-11:  The complainant reported that someone had stolen over $8,000 worth of rare coins and jewelry from his lockbox.  The complainant reported that there are only four (4) individuals that are aware of the location of the lockbox.  There were no signs of forced entry into the home.  11-3342

Larceny from Automobile

1200 block of Wyandotte, 9-12-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect smashed the window out of his Dodge Nitro and stole the In-Dash GPS unit.  11-3371

 

1100 block of Cherokee, 9-12-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect smashed the window out of his Jeep and stole the In-Dash GPS unit.  11-3372

2300 block of E. Fourth Street, 9-12-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered his unlocked Jeep Cherokee and stole the In-Dash navigation system.  11-3378

Other Incidents:

800 block of Park, 9-8-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole his blue Schwinn bicycle from his backyard.  11-3318

 

Black Finn Bar, 530 S. Main, 9-8-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole her purse from one of the service stations while she was working.  11-3319

 

Sunoco Gas Station, 4738 Rochester, 9-9-11:  The complainant reported that unknown suspects passed two counterfeit $20 bills over the past week.  11-3326

 

4100 block of Crooks, 9-9-11:  Royal Oak officers checked on a home they knew to be vacant for some time now.  Officers discovered the house was not occupied but did locate two bicycles in the backyard.  It is possible these bikes had been stolen so they were taken to the police station for safekeeping.  The first bike is a grey Shwinn Ranger mountain bike and the second is a blue Next Power Climber.  11-3331

 

Falafel King, 32748 Woodward Avenue, 9-11-11:  The complainant reported that three (3) unknown white males emptied a garbage can in the parking lot and then placed an unknown object inside the can.  The suspects then began video taping one of the suspect placing a firework inside the can.  The firework exploded and caused an explosion so large that it damaged the window of the business.  11-3359

 

2200 block of E. Ten Mile, 9-11-11:  Royal Oak officers responded to a family trouble call regarding the custody of a pit-bull dog.  During the course of the officers’ investigation, the owner of the dog lost control of the animal and the dog charged an officer while he stood on the sidewalk.  The officer retreated to the rear of his patrol car but was bitten on the leg.  The officer shot the dog and immediately had the dog transported to the veterinarian hospital for treatment. The dog was euthanized due to the extent of its injuries.  11-3364

 

1400 block of Wyandotte, 9-12-11:  The complainant reported that he observed an opossum in his back yard that had been shot with an arrow. The complainant stated that the animal was still alive and when he went to the house to get something to assist him in trapping the animal, it was gone.  11-3370

 

William Beaumont Hospital, 3601 W. Thirteen Mile, 9-12-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect smashed the rear window to her Pontiac Grand Am.  11-3378

 

Kroger, 30991 Woodward Avenue, 9-12-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole her wallet from her purse as she shopped.  11-3379

 

Euclid and Main Street, 9-14-11:  The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole the license plate from his vehicle.  11-3398
