Robbery Suspect Convicted

The suspect that robbed the Metro PCS store located at 822 E. Eleven Mile on November 12th, 2010, has been convicted of Armed Robbery, Flee and Eluding Police, Assault with Intent to Commit Great Bodily Harm (two (2) counts), Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.

The 6th Circuit Court bench trial was heard before Honorable Rudy Nichols and a guilty verdict on all counts was received on September 8th, 2011.    The suspect, Tommie Threatt, remains in custody at the Oakland County Jail and will be sentenced on September 30th, 2011. 

 

If you recall, Royal Oak officers responded to investigate the report of an Armed Robbery that just occurred at the Metro PCS store located at 822 E. Eleven Mile Road.

Officers noticed a vehicle driving in the area with its headlights off occupied by two males.  The vehicle failed to stop for the officers and a pursuit began. During the pursuit gunshots were fired at officers from the fleeing vehicle. The pursuit ended as a result of a collision between one of the responding officers’ vehicles and the suspect vehicle. One of the suspects exited their vehicle and a police officer fired at him, striking him one time.

The two suspects were arrested and treated at William Beaumont Hospital.
