Breaking and Entering:
200 block of Gardenia, 4-23-11: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole several tools and construction supplies from his front porch area. Some of the items taken were paint, a drill, a sander and extension cords. 11-1366
500 block of Detroit, 4-25-11 (Occurred on 4-3-11): The complainant reported that an unknown suspect forced open the service door to her garage and stole her wallet from inside of her vehicle. The suspect used several of the credit cards from the wallet over the past few days. 11-1382
100 block of S. Maple, 4-26-11: The complainant report that he had observed a male suspect attempting to crawl through the window of a home. Our officers arrived and entered the home to find the male suspect inside. After an investigation of the incident it was determined that the house was vacant and the suspect was the son of the former renter. The suspect was arrested for Unlawful Entry. 11-1404
Home Invasion:
1100 block of Whitcomb, 4-21-11: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered his residence through an unlocked bathroom window. The suspect stole a 42-inch plasma television. 11-1318
1400 block of Hartrick, 4-21-11: The complainant reported that he was trying to rent out a room in his home. He gave a tour of the home to a potential renter. Later in the day, after they both had left the home, he returned to find that an unknown suspect had entered the home thru an unlocked back door. The complainant stated that that door is always locked and never used. He believes that the potential renter may have unlocked the door during the tour and then returned. Taken were six custom car tires. 11-1327
3800 block of Benjamin, 4-22-11: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect had attempted to pry open the front door of his apartment. The complainant was not home at the time. 11-1341
3200 block of Prairie, 4-25-11: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect forced his way into the home while he was away and stole a laptop computer and computer bag. 11-1386
600 block of Lincoln, 4-23-11: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered his house and stole two handguns. There were no signs of a forced entry. 11-1356
Larceny from Autos:
1500 block of Maryland Club, 2-22-11: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole all four tires from his 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt. The suspect placed the car on bricks and left behind a floor jack. 11-1332
1500 block of W. Webster, 4-25-11: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle and stole his identification and an undisclosed amount of money. 11-1390
3100 block of Linwood, 4-26-11: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered his unlocked 2010 Ford Focus and stole a factory installed GPS, clothing, sunglasses and other miscellaneous items. 11-1398
William Beaumont Hospital, 3601 W. Thirteen Mile, 4-26-11: The complainant reported that she valet parked her vehicle at the hospital. When she returned to the car she found that three rings, including her wedding ring, had been taken from the center counsel. 11-1399
3100 block of Linwood, 4-26-11: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered her unlocked vehicle and stole two pair of prescription sunglasses. 11-1403
1000 block of Greenleaf, 4-27-11: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered her vehicle and stole her GPS system, laptop computer, I-pod and some change. 11-1410
1000 block of Greenleaf, 4-27-11: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered her vehicle and stole her GPS system. The complainant was unsure if she locked her vehicle. 11-1418
900 block of N. Pleasant, 4-27-11: The complainant reported that unknown suspects entered his unlocked vehicle and stole change. The complainant has a home security camera on his house and it captured two unknown black males opening the door to his vehicle at 2:30 am. 11-1411
Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile
4800 block of Woodland, 4-23-11: The complainant called to report that someone had attempted to steal his vehicle. The officers arrived to find that an unknown suspect had pried the driver side door of his 2006 Dodge Stratus open. Inside the car the officers noticed the ignition assembly lying on the floor and also noticed damage to the vehicles steering column. 11-1355
200 block of E Houstonia, 4-26-11: The complainant called to report that an unknown suspect had broke into his vehicle parked in his driveway. The suspect took a spare key that belong to his other vehicle, a 2011 Ford Focus, which was parked in the driveway and stole that vehicle. 11-1408
Other Incidents:
Fifth Street and Center Street, 4-23-11: The complainant entered his unlocked vehicle with a friend and noticed that his car keys were missing. He then looked in his rear view mirror and noticed an unknown suspect sitting in his back seat. The suspect immediately punched the complainant in the back of the head and a struggle ensued. The complainant held onto the suspect until officers arrived on the scene. The suspect was arrested for Breaking and Entering of an Automobile and Assault and Battery. 11-1352
4900 block of Crooks, 4-22-11: The complainant reported that he allowed a friend to stay the weekend at his home. After a few days the complainant asked the suspect to leave the home. The complainant then noticed that a handgun he stored in a lockbox was missing. The suspect was the only person who had access to the home during this time. 11-1364
Fifth Avenue Billiards, 215 W. Fifth St., 4-24-11: Officers responded to an assault and battery report between patrons and Fifth Avenue Security. 11-1370
Whittier Park, Alexander and Farnum, 4-25-11: The complainant reported a white male, driving a white work van, approached his children that were playing. The man asked the children what street they lived on and offered them a toy helicopter. The man is described as being a white male, 45-50 years old, 5'10", with black/gray hair and had hairy arms. 11-1387
Twelve Mile and Campbell, 4-27-11: A Royal Oak officer stopped a speeding violator in the Speedway Gas Station lot. As the officer approached the vehicle, the suspect sped away. The officer attempted to catch up to the fleeing vehicle on eastbound 12 Mile Rd. The suspect then entered onto southbound I-75 and quickly exited at Eleven Mile Rd. A Madison Heights officer spotted the fleeing vehicle and was able to stop the vehicle near the suspect’s house in Madison Heights. The driver was arrested for Flee and Eluding, OWI III and DWLS II. 11-1405
Eleven Mile and Troy, 4-27-11: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole two cordless Dewalt drills, a Saws All, rechargeable batteries and a Dewalt radio from an unsecured construction lockbox. 11-1406
2300 block of E Eleven Mile, 4-27-11: Officers were dispatched for a possible abandoned vehicle in the alley. The responding officers discovered an intoxicated male sleeping inside the vehicle and noticed a handgun on the floor board. The man, who had a valid concealed pistol license, was ticketed for possession of a firearm while under the influence of liquor. The handgun was confiscated. 11-1409
800 block of N Main, 4-27-11: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect broke his driver’s side window of his vehicle which was legally parked on the street. The complainant discovered nothing was stolen from the vehicle. 11-1424
30000 block of Woodward, 4-28-11: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect broke his rear hatch window of his vehicle which was parked outside a business. The complainant said nothing was stolen from the vehicle. 11-1425
Wanted Criminal Sexual Conduct Offender Arrested and Convicted!!
In 2009, the Royal Oak Criminal Investigations Division began a Criminal Sexual Conduct investigation involving a pastor at a local non denominational church and a child. The investigation revealed that the child was assaulted multiple times between the ages of 5 and 14 years old. During the investigation the defendant, David Rodney Bozeman, 41-years-old, fled the state and was secretly residing in Alabama.
Mr. Bozeman was recently captured during a routine traffic stop in Alabama and extradited back to Michigan. The defendant plead guilty, which relieved the victim from having to testify, to two counts of CSC I and one count of CSC II. He was sentenced on April 29, 2011 to 17 ½ to 32 years in prison before the 6th Circuit Court Honorable Judge Rudy Nichols.
