Breaking and Entering:
1700 block of E. Eleven Mile, 4-16-11, 4:30 am: Officers responded to a Breaking and Entering of a business. The complainant stated he was walking in the area and observed an unknown suspect tampering with the rear door to the building. He then heard the sound of smashing glass and called the police. Our officers checked the business and found that no access was gained but a window was smashed out and fresh pry marks were found on the rear door. The suspect was described as a male in a blue hooded sweatshirt. 11-1267
Home Invasion:
3900 block of Hillside, 4-17-11, 4:15 pm: The complainant reported they returned home from being out of town and discovered that an unknown suspect had forced entry through their rear door. The complainant had several jewelry boxes filled with jewelry stolen. 11-1289
Larceny from Autos:
2900 block of N. Vermont, 4-15-11, 8:30 pm: The complainant reported that her vehicle was left unlocked in her driveway. An unknown suspect then stole her $800.00 Dell lap top computer. 11-1259
800 block of Park, 4-17-11, 12:45 am: The complainant parked his vehicle outside of his address unlocked. He discovered that an unknown subject stole his portable GPS unit, sunglasses and currency. 11-1283
Royal Oak Total Soccer, 1419 Lexington, 4-16-11, 10:15 pm: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect took a cell phone from his unlocked vehicle. 11-1297
LA Fitness, 25352 Woodward Avenue, 4-19-11, 9:00 pm: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle and stole a backpack containing two raincoats, his checkbook and some bills. Also taken were two Motorola two-way radios. 11-1307
Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile
3800 block of Devon, 4-20-11, 11:15 pm: The complainant called to say that an unknown suspect had stolen her gold 1999 GMC Yukon Denali. The complainant reported that she parked her car in the parking lot around 10:00 am and found her vehicle missing at 11:15 pm. 11-1313
Other Incidents:
Ye Ole Saloon, 1023 S. Main, 4-15-11, 12:05 am: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole his Schwinn mountain bike. The bike had been locked to a bike rack. The suspect left an older bike in its place. 11-1255
202 S. Sherman, 4-17-11, 1:00 am: The complainant stated his Specialized mountain bike was stolen by an unknown suspect. The bike had been locked to a bike rack. 11-1278
1900 block of Gardenia, 4-20-11, 7:45 am: A homeowner called our department and asked for help when he arrived home from work to find the doors of his home locked and the deadbolts in place. His elderly mother was inside calling for help after suffering a fall. Our officers were able to force the door open to the house. The elderly mother was transported to the hospital to be treated for the fall. 11-1308
600 block of Oakland, 4-20-11, 8:15 pm: Our officers responded to a call regarding several young males that had entered a foreclosed house with baseball bats in hand. When the officers arrived they found the house was vacant and four individuals were walking around inside. The subjects were taken into custody for Entering Without Permission. The vacant house had been ransacked over a period of time. 11-1312
CVS, 30900 Woodward Avenue, 4-21-11, 1:10 am: Our officers responded to a Retail Fraud in progress. As the officers neared the store they located a silver Ford Taurus leaving the scene. The vehicle was occupied by two male suspects. Our officers attempted to stop the vehicle near Thirteen Mile and Woodward but the suspects refused to stop. Our officers pursued the suspects to the area of Southfield Road and Eleven Mile. Our officers terminated the pursuit. We determined that the suspect vehicle was a stolen vehicle and had been involved in similar crimes in other area cities over the past few days. 11-1315
