Home Invasion:
400 block of Laplaza, 4-13-11, 6:30 pm: The complainant reported that she stored a window air conditioner in her closet several months ago. While packing and moving to a new residence, she discovered that an unknown suspect had taken the unit. The officers did not find any signs of forced entry. 11-1236
Larceny from Autos:
1200 block of Wyandotte, 4-8-11, 8:15 am: The complainant reported that his 2007 Dodge Nitro had the passenger side window smashed out. The suspect then stole his car stereo and factory installed GPS unit. 11-1141
Jimi’s Ice Cream, 1528 E. Eleven Mile, 4-9-11, 7:55 pm: The complainant parked and locked their car in the lot. When he came back a short time later, he discovered that their driver side window was smashed out and the unknown suspect had stolen two cell phones that were inside. 11-1171
700 block of Lawson, 4-10-11, 8:00 pm: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered their unlocked vehicle and stole a Nikon camera with various flash accessories and a pair of sunglasses. 11-1179
800 block of E. Fifth St., 4-10-11, 9:00 pm: The complainant reported that driver side window of his 2008 Jeep was smashed out. An unknown suspect stole the factory installed GPS unit, a suit with dress shoes and a set of golf clubs. 11-1180
Royal Oak Golf Center, 3500 Edgar, 4-10-11, 5:30 pm: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect smashed out the passenger side window and stole her purse. The purse contained currency, credit cards and a cell phone. 11-1186
2500 block of Brockton, 4-10-11, 7:00 am: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole the doors off of her 1997 Jeep Wrangler when it was parked in her driveway. 11-1218
Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile
3900 block of Mark Orr, 4-13-11, 4:50 am: The complainant reported that he borrowed his friends Tan 1995 Chevrolet Caprice for the night. He parked it in front of his house and later found that an unknown suspect had stolen the vehicle. 11-1227
Other Incidents:
There have been four incidents of an unknown suspect spray painting graffiti on the wall of businesses and the privacy fences of homes. The graffiti has been of various animal shapes such as a shark, an octopus, a roster and a bear.
BP gas station, 2419 E. Eleven Mile, 4-8-11, 1:52 pm: Royal Oak officers responded to a report of a domestic assault involving a victim that had been stabbed. When the officers arrived they determined that the victim had gotten into an argument with his uncle. The victim had two puncture wounds on his face. The suspect was arrested for Aggravated Assault. 11-1166
1000 block of E. Sixth St., 4-8-11, 10:30 pm: The complainant reported that she was on a walk and observed a Rottweiler mix dog caught on a fence. It appeared as if the dog attempted to jump the fence and its collar got hung up on the fence. The complainant freed the dog and walked it to the front door of the home to speak with the owner. While speaking with the homeowner, the dog bit the complainant on the arm causing injuries. 11-1167
Royal Oak Ford, 27550 Woodward Avenue, 4-12-11, 9:00 am: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect stole one of their dealer license plates. 11-1121
Royal Laundry, 4121 W Thirteen Mile, 4-12-11, 1:00 pm: The complainant reports that an unknown suspect mixed laundry detergent with another substance. The mixture caused three washers to become clogged and inoperable. 11-1217
2000 block of E. Eleven Mile, 4-14-11, 4:00 pm: Officers responded to a 911 call regarding an unresponsive female. The officers discovered a 28- year-old female deceased inside the residence. This incident is currently under investigation. 11-1252
Rabies Alert
Officers responded to a rabid skunk. The skunk was found in the 500 block of Parkdale. The skunk was euthanized and removed for disposal.
