Special Information
Along with the list of informational items at left for absentee voting, service clubs, directions to City Hall, etc., the following are some Special Announcements:
- Garage Sales: The City does not require a permit for garage sales. Please remember not to place signs in the right of way (between the sidewalk and the curb) and on utility poles. Placing signs on private property is only permitted with the property owner’s permission. Signs must be removed after the sale.
- Public Hearing Notices. Check here for a list of public hearing notices.
- Dog Park FOB Renewals. Dog Park access, waiver and membership form. To renew, we must have the applications filled out, proof of all shots and a copy of a current dog license (for non-residents). The fees for renewal are the following: residents - $40 non-residents $65 (non-resident passes are sold out). If a FOB is lost and needs to be replaced, there is an additional $10 fee. Anyone may renew their FOB any time prior to the expiration date, which is one year from the date they purchased the FOB.
- Sign up here to be notified when new e-packet agendas, meeting minutes, videos and other City Commission meeting documents have been posted to the website and are available for viewing. City Manager updates and other valuable news items will also be included on a regular basis. This free subscription service will deliver the information to you as soon as it is available.
- Outside Burning: Royal Oak does not allow outside burning in portable fireplaces or in fire pits, but we do allow people to cook over Charcoal, Propane and Natural Gas. Residents with questions regarding the ordinance should contact the Fire Department at 248-246-3800 during normal business hours.

The 2010 season of Hockey Night in Royal Oak returns to WROK every weekend at 4pm & 5pm. Featuring Royal Oak Hockey Association Hockey from Lindell Arena. Youngsters from the Royal Oak Hockey Association play America's favorite winter game from the west rink at Royal Oak's John Lindell Arena. We shoot two games on the First and Fourth Wednesday of every month through March. WROK coverage of the 6pm & 7pm games can be seen Friday, Saturday & Sunday at 4pm and 5pm. Volunteers are needed for this exciting and fun production. You can join in by calling 248-246-3040 or email Richard Wilson at RichardW@ci.royal-oak.mi.us . This is the perfect learning experience for those interested in pursuing a career in TV production. - Liquor Control Committee Meetings now on WROK:
Live coverage of the meetings of the Royal Oak Liquor Control Committee takes place on the second Wednesday of each month. However only meetings featuring Public hearings will be recorded. Replays of the LCC meetings are Thursdays at Noon and Saturdays and Sundays at 1pm.

- Normal Siren Testing is the First Saturday of each month at 1:00 p.m., with the following exception:
- April 2 (Saturday); cancelled due to SWAW testing.
- March 30 (Wednesday) at 1:00 p.m. (Special test in recognition of Severe Weather Awareness Week).
- Siren tests are NOT conducted during December, January or February due to winter weather.
