Tax Bill Payment Options: VISA, Master Card or Electronic Check

The Treasurer’s Office now accepts payments for Royal Oak tax bills via the internet or by telephone. This service is provided by Oakland County to assist the City of Royal Oak in accepting tax payments.

Information you will need to know when using the payment system

• Your Parcel ID or your property address
• City of Royal Oak
• "Winter" or "Summer" tax bill
• An "Enhanced Access Fee" of up to 2.75% of the total payment will be charged for credit card payments. A flat rate fee will be charged when using the electronic check payment option.

To get started, just click on this link: Pay Taxes On-Line. You will be redirected to the Oakland County PayTaxes web site service where you will be prompted for further instructions and information on paying your tax bill on-line.

Other Payment Options

By Mail: Send the top portion of you tax statement with your check in the enclosed return envelope. The bottom portion, together with your cancelled check, will serve as your receipt. If you would like, you may send in the entire bill, with a self-addressed, stamped envolope and the treasuerer;s office will mark the bottom portion of your tax bill and return it to you.

In Person: Treasurer's Office is on the 1st floor in City Hall, located at 211 S Williams Street. Taxpayers who have escrow arrangements with banks or other financial institutions paying taxes on their behalf will not receive a bill. If a tax bill is received, please notify the Treasurer's office and forward the bill to your mortgage company for payment. Any taxpayer who pays his or her own bill and fails to receive it should contact the Treasurer's Office by calling (248) 246-3140.

A drop box is located next to the front door of City Hall for any payments you wish to make after hours.
