Parking Structures and Permits

There are three parking structures in the City of Royal Oak. The hourly rate for parking at the two attended structures located at 6th Street and Lafayette and 2nd Street and Center is $0.50 per hour with the first two hours of parking free. After 5:00 pm a flat fee of $3.00. A parking card is required at 4th and Lafayette.

Metered Parking

There is on-street and off-street metered parking available. The seven metered lots located in the downtown area offering parking from 30 minutes to 12 hours. Parking tags for use at the 3 lots along Williams Street are also available at the Treasurer’s Office. Check the following on-street and off-street parking maps for additional information:

Amtrak Parking

A section of meters in the Sherman Drive parking lot (across the street from the bus station) has been designated for those people riding the Amtrak train. A special Amtrak parking pass can be purchased from either the City Treasurer’s Office or the SMART bus station at a cost of $5.00 per day. (Sundays and certain Holidays are free)
