Network switch replacements/upgrades (age of equipment is a major factor):

Local Dial Tone, local, toll and Long Distance calling service
- Existing contract with McLeod is expiring 2/23/2010.

T1 Strategy 
- T1 for Internet Access, Web site, and email (independent vs TLN shared)
- Voice and Data T1's to Senior, Ice, and DPS
- Combine Ice Arena and Senior Center voice and data connection
- Digital / Microwave T1 options with City radio dispatch system (Test w/ Fire, Rec.)

Integrated email/notification/calendar/scheduling Software  
- Email Collaboration software upgrade for calendar and appointments
- Multiple reminders to multiple people
- Scheduling meetings at various facilities
- Must be PDA compatible

Server Replacements: Hardware and software 
- Migrate from NT4 domain to active directory domain authentication
- Implement internal DNS server
- Continue implementation of Windows 2003/2008 Server
- (CH2-bdc, DPS-bdc, CH1-pdc)

Computer replacement program: Hardware and software replacement: 
- Continue implementation of Windows XP Pro (Vista Capable)
- or other open systems platform?
- Office Software – (Backward file format compatibility between MS-Office releases;
2007 vs ( XP, 2003, 2000, 97 are compatible with the exception of MS-Office '97 Access database. )
- 20% Replacement/Upgrade program (5-10 PC's per month)

Building / Permits / Code Enforcement Applications - BS&A .net upgrade 
- Upgrade BS&A  to new dot net version which will provide web-browser based system.
- Mobile / Wireless Broadband implementation with Laptops for inspectors and enforcement officers. Printing.
    Wireless cost = $50-60/Month per unit; 15 units = $900 - 1,050 per month
- Beaumont Hospital - Document plan review process and internet hosting
- BS&A - Building Permits Application annual maintenance

City Clerk Business Licensing and Animal Licensing Applications - BS&A 
- Software application (Does not include any customization costs)
- Pervasive.Sql Licensing $1,195
- $ 200/hr for data conversion, configuration, Implementation
- $ 900/day for on-site training + $50/hr travel + overnight accommodations
   estimated at 3 days

Daily Treasurer's Report Interface & Credit Card payments 
- Integrate Comcash system to daily JE in Finance system
- Integrate Credit/Debit card payments with cash drawer system

Fire Station Requests 
- Laptops for deputy chief and EMS coordinator.
- 4 Laptops for fire software application (toughbooks).

G.I.S.- Geographical Information Systems commitment of resources: 
- ESRI Software upgrades
- Planning department computer upgrade
- CAMS integration with Oakland County

Web Enabling (Public Internet): 
- Web-based or service based credit card payments. Official Payments.
- Content Management system
- Use php-mysql where appropriate to provide dynamic content to databases.
  (ie. Sidewalk special assessments)

Web Enabling (Private Intranet): 
1. Use php-mysql where appropriate to provide dynamic content to databases.
    Migrate from MS-Access front-end to php coding.
2. Research threaded discussion groups for best practices.
