Licensing Dogs

Every resident of the city who owns a dog must license their dog. Residents may come into the office or send it by mail. Licenses are available in one, two or three year licenses and should expire when the rabies vaccination expires.

For mail-in requests, please provide us with a copy of the dog's rabies certificate, along with a check made payable to the City of Royal Oak (Use this form for your request).

Please let us know when you no longer have your dog. We are constantly updating our records.

Dog License fees are as follows:
  For spayed or neutered dogs: 1-year $7; 2-year $12 or 3-year $18.
  For non-spayed/neutered: 1-year $10; 2-year $18 or 3-year $27.

There is a $10 delinquent penalty if license is not renewed within 45 days after expiration date.
