City Seeking Applicants for New Committees

The City of Royal Oak has created two new committees and is seeking applicants to serve on them. The Charter Vehicle Task Force and the Royal Oak Commission for the Arts are briefly described below.

Charter Vehicle Task Force
An ad-hoc committee to include a representative from City administration, the Police Department, Royal Oak Restaurant Association, Chamber of Commerce, two City Commissioners, representatives for the bus/limousine owners, and a downtown resident, to bring back recommendations on how to improve or eliminate the party bus issue and charges the City Manager with bringing this altogether.

Royal Oak Commission for the Arts
The Royal Oak Commission for the Arts was created to encourage and support arts and culture in the City of Royal Oak. The Commission shall consist of seven voting members who have experience or interest in the propagation, creation, design, performance, instruction, or study of the arts. One of the seven voting members shall be a member of the City Commission. The City Manager or his/her designee shall serve as an ex officio non-voting member of the Commission. Commission members shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Commission for a term of three years.
