“Red Run” is being held on Wednesday, January 9th, 2013 beginning 7:30 pm at the Royal Oak Middle School (709 N Washington between 11 Mile Rd & Catalpa). Learn about the river that used to flow through Royal Oak and what lived in it, from Bob Muller, Royal Oak Nature Society naturalist. Between the late 1920’s and the mid 1960’s, the river was buried underground. Royal Oak still had one creek with fish in it during the 1960’s.Read more »

ROHS Winter Choral Concert

Food Truck Rally -- with Santa!

It's another Food Truck Rally! On Wednesday, December 5, from 5-9pm, a gathering of Metro Detroit's finest food trucks will be setting up inside the Royal Oak Farmers Market. Bring the whole family for a great variety of affordable food and wonderful music! This event is brought to you by the Michigan Mobile Food Vendors Association (MMFVA). Special guest for the evening is Santa Claus, who will take time out of his busy schedule to stop by and visit!

Home for the Holidays

The South Oakland Concert Band and the Woodward Ave Jazz Orchestra will hold it's annual holiday performance on Sunday, December 9th, with special guests from the Royal Oak High School Women's Ensemble and A Capella Choir. This performance will be held at the Royal Oak High School Auditorium starting at 3:00 pm. Historic Holiday Special Open House

The Historic Orson Starr House will be holding a special Christmas Carols open house on Sunday, December 9 from 1pm to 4pm. Neighborhood Watch Training Session

The Royal Oak Crime Prevention Council is sponsoring another quarterly neighborhood watch crime prevention training session. The session will be held on Tuesday, December 4th from 6:30 - 8:00pm in the 2nd floor police conference room, 221 E Third Street. Parks and Recreation Master Plan Workshop

National Meat Cutting Challenge Round 1

3rd Annual Metro Detroit's Finest

The Metro Detroit/Northwest Ohio Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is proud to announce the 3rd Annual Metro Detroit’s Finest Event benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The event will take place on Thursday, December 6, 2012, at the Royal Oak Farmer’s Market located at 316 East 11 Mile Road. This event is being held to celebrate the accomplishments of six individuals who have accepted the challenge of raising a minimum of $2,500 each, over a six week period. There will be food vendors from local restaurants, a live and silent auction, beer and wine, a photo booth and music.Read more »
