Coffee Hours

Summer Stroll for Epilepsy(tm)

The Summer Stroll for Epilepsy(tm) is an inspirational morning walk that gathers individuals from all across Michigan to encourage widespread epilepsy awareness and fundraising for the many programs and services offered by the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan. Charity Hockey Game

The annual Royal Oak Guns & Hoses Charity Hockey Game. The Police and Fire departments face-off on Saturday, March 23rd, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the John Lindell Arena (1403 Lexington Blvd, Royal Oak MI ). Proceeds from this year's event to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.Tickets are $10 each and are available at the police station or any of the three fire stations or at the ice rink on the day of the event. Town Hall Meeting - Royal Oak Finances 101

The Royal Oak City Commission will be holding a special "Town Hall Meeting" at the Mahany – Meininger Senior-Community Center located at 3500 Marais Ave, Royal Oak, Michigan. The main focus will be a presentation titled: Royal Oak Finances 101. An opportunity for questions and public comment will be available after the presentation.

Town Hall on Foreclosure

On Wednesday, February 23, State Rep. Jim Townsend will be holding an informational town hall meeting about foreclosures at the Royal Oak Public Library from 6 - 8 p.m.

Rep. Townsend will be joined at the town hall by Eric Dusenbury of the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA), Greg Sterns of Lighthouse of Oakland County and Oakland County Treasurer Andy Meisner.  
Personal foreclosure counselors from Lighthouse will be available to meet with individual homeowners at the event.

Snow Emergency

Tuesday, February 1, 2011 - 12:00pm

A snow emergency has been declared in Royal Oak as of midnight, February 2. Snow Emergency conditions are generally defined as a snowfall of four inches or more and will remain in effect until your street has been plowed.  All vehicles on residential streets are to be removed or will be towed. Vehicles are to remain off the streets until plow trucks have gone through the area. Once a snow emergency is called and plowing begins, it takes approximately 24-36 hours to plow all city streets, depending on how much snow has fallen.Read more »

School Superintendent Search Forum

Members of the Royal Oak community are invited to attend a Royal Oak Schools Superintendent Search Open Forum on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Board of Education Office, 1123 Lexington Blvd., Royal Oak.

Residents of the District are encouraged to participate in the superintendent search process by attending this open forum which will be conducted by the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB), the organization selected to conduct the search for the District’s new superintendent.Read more »

Children's Choir Fundraiser

Friday, February 11:  The Royal Oak Children’s Choir will host a benefit concert of piano music by the Motor City’s own blues & boogie-woogie pianist Matthew Ball 7:00PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (202 East Fifth Street).  Admission is $10 for adults, children are free all proceeds will support a special opportunity for the choir to do a summer concert tour including performances at The Grand Ole Opry and at  Elvis’ Graceland.Read more »
