State Rep Townhall on Senior Taxes

State Representative Jim Townsend (D-Royal Oak) will hold a town hall meeting to inform people about the senior tax on pensions, 401(k)s, IRAs and other forms of retirement income. The tax, which Rep. Townsend voted against, took effect on Jan. 1 and people who receive retirement income have started to see money withheld for this new tax. Tax professionals, including Sheryl Lucas and Denise Dibbs from H&R Block and Jim Reinert of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants will be on-hand to answer questions.

Comedy for a Cause

You're invited to Comedy for a Cause! A night of entertainment and laughter that benefits the Salvation Army's Bed & Bread Club Radiothon. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by calling Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle at 248.542.9900. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. Although the jokes will be kept squeaky clean for this comedy event, the show is open only to adults age 18 and up. ROHA Fundraiser

The Royal Oak Hockey Association is having a MOM2MOM sale at the Royal Oak High School on March 3 from 9am to 1pm at the Royal Oak High School. This is a fundraiser to support the Royal Oak Hockey Association and will help to provide much needed items such as scholarships and equipment.

Friends of the Library Used Book Sale

Visit the Royal Oak Public Library (222 E. Eleven Mile Road) for the Friends Annual Book Sale on March 14th, 15th, and 16th. Gently used children’s books will be on sale in the Youth Activity Room and adult books, CDs and DVDs will be on sale in the Friends Auditorium. LPs, sheet music, toys, and magazines are included in the sale. Thursday, March 14, from 5 PM – 8 PM is the Friends preview night (memberships available at the door).Read more »

Fur-Get Me Not

Fishes of Death Valley

Musical Fundraiser for Welcome Inn

Wild Winter Artic Adventure
