State Representative Jim Townsend (D-Royal Oak) will hold a town hall meeting to inform people about the senior tax on pensions, 401(k)s, IRAs and other forms of retirement income. The tax, which Rep. Townsend voted against, took effect on Jan. 1 and people who receive retirement income have started to see money withheld for this new tax. Tax professionals, including Sheryl Lucas and Denise Dibbs from H&R Block and Jim Reinert of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants will be on-hand to answer questions.
You're invited to Comedy for a Cause! A night of entertainment and laughter that benefits the Salvation Army's Bed & Bread Club Radiothon. The Royal Oak Hockey Association is having a MOM2MOM sale at the Royal Oak High School on March 3 from 9am to 1pm at the Royal Oak High School. This is a fundraiser to support the Royal Oak Hockey Association and will help to provide much needed items such as scholarships and equipment.

Gently used children’s books will be on sale in the Youth Activity Room and adult books, CDs and DVDs will be on sale in the Friends Auditorium.
