A Late Spring Nature Walk is being held at Tenhave Woods on Saturday, June 9th, 2012, at 10:00 am. Park at the Lexington/Marais lot & meet at the Lexington entrance. Join us and see what is happening in the woods during the late spring and beginning of summer. No registration is required and the walk is completely free! This month the South Oakland Art Association calls on one of its newer members, Jacqueline Drake to discuss the Passion of Painting.  Jacqueline is originally from Royal Oak and a graduate of Royal Oak Kimball High School.  After working at Beaumont Hospital for several years in nursing, she decided to go back to school, and attended an Art school in Austin Texas. There are nearly 700,000 military veterans in Michigan, most of whom, along with their families, are eligible for burial at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. On May 15 William Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors will offer those veterans a free bus trip to the cemetery to learn about their options.

The City will host the celebration of Arbor Day at Worden Park East at 10:30 am. Worden Park East is located 2-blocks north of Thirteen Mile next to the Mahany-Meininger Senior Community Center (3500 Marais).

Open registration for new Day Camp participants begins Tuesday, March 27, 2012. The Royal Oak Day Camp will be held at Royal Oak High School, 1500 Lexington Blvd (corner of Crooks) for nine weeks in June, July, and August. Day Camp is a great chance to fill your summer with great fun like outdoor skills, games, crafts, sports, swimming and more.
