The Orson Starr House Guild invites you to enjoy their Museum Open House on Sunday, June 10th from 1 pm to 4pm. A display of pre-World War 1 wedding gowns will be featured. Guests are invited to bring any wedding gowns which they would like to exhibit. The Orson Starr House Museum is located at 3123 N Main Street (one block South of 13 Mile Road). The Metro Detroit "Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis Walk” will be in Royal Oak on Saturday, June 23, 2012. The Take Steps check-in and Festival event will start at 9:00am and the walk will start at 10:30am. The one-half (1.5)-mile and three (3)-mile walks will begin at Meininger Park, proceed on public sidewalks through downtown Royal Oak, and end back at Meininger Park. Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis Walk is CCFA’s largest fundraising event throughout the year.Read more »

The Royal Oak Senior Center will be having a fundraiser at Applebee’s on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, all day. Dining to Donate! Come and enjoy a meal that’s filling – and fulfilling. Dine at Applebee’s and 15% of your bill will be donated to the Royal Oak Senior Citizen Center. Applebee’s is located at 1275 W 14 Mile Rd in Madison Heights. You must bring flyer with you for donation to count. Flyers are available at the Mahany/Meininger Senior Community Center, Department of Public Services and City Hall.

Northwood Elementary School is hosting the Royal Oak Electronics Recycling Event in conjunction with 5R Processors. The event is being held at Northwood, 926 W 12 Mile Road from 10am to 2pm. 5R Processors will be accepting consumer electronics and home office equipment on the accepted
items list.

Grace Centers of Hope will host the 8th Annual ‘Walk a Mile in My Shoes’ Walk-a-Thon at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak on Saturday, June 1, 2013. Proceeds from the event will support the Homeless Children’s Programs and Childcare Center at Grace Centers of Hope, one of the largest homeless shelters in southeast Michigan.
