Adult - Athletic Leagues

Team registration is handled in the Recreation office in City Hall. Registration for most leagues is done six to eight weeks prior to the start of the season.

  • Men: Basketball, Touch Football, Softball, 35 & Over Softball
  • Women: Basketball, Softball 55+, Soccer
  • Coed: Softball

Youth - Athletic Leagues

Athletic Associations
A volunteer Board of Directors in co-operation with the Recreation Department manages the following youth athletic programs:

    The City has 2 youth football and cheerleading teams serving the youth of Royal Oak. They participate and are part of the OMYFL-Oakland Macomb Youth Football League.

    Registration for fall football and cheerleading will be held at the Royal Oak Senior Center on Marais and is usually in April (Check the ROFL website for current information).

    All forms will be available at the registration.

    Everyone needs a COPY of the birth certificate, recent photo, a sports physical dated after April 15th. (the physical can be handed in later)

    To get started with the registration, the COPY of the birth certificate, photo and check is all that's needed.

    The Royal Oak Sandlot League (ROSL) offers leagues for softball and hardball. Practices begin in May and the season ends in late July. Youth who live in the City of Royal Oak or attend a school in the City of Royal Oak (public or private) are eligible to participate.

Total Soccer

The indoor, bubble-domed structure has been operating in Royal Oak for several years. The facility offers soccer leagues, camps, clinics and tournaments for soccer players from age 4 to 40 and older.
