What to do if you get a parking ticket

Should you find a ticket on your windshield, credit card payments can be made online at Government Payment Services, Inc or here for Mobile Users, or by calling 1-888-604-7888. You will need to provide the following:

  • The 44th District Court 4-digit Pay Location Code # (3031)
  • Your ticket or case number
  • The amount owed

Parking structures and permits

parking structure at S. Center St. at W. 3rd St. 
Mon - Sat: before 5pm; first 2 hours are FREE. 50 cents an hour thereafter.
Mon - Sat: after 5pm; flat rate of $5
Sunday: FREE

parking structure at S. Lafayette Ave. at W. 6th St.
Mon - Sat: before 5pm; first 2 hours are FREE. 50 cents an hour thereafter.
Mon - Sat: after 5pm; flat rate of $3
Sunday: FREE

Metered parking

Metered parking on the street & within surface parking lots is always FREE until 11am Monday - Saturday, all day Sunday & all day during civic holidays.

7 metered surface parking lots in the downtown offer parking from 30 minutes to 12 hours. Prices vary depending upon location (see the on-street parking lot below).

Parking permit tags are available at the Treasurer’s Office in City Hall; P (248) 246-3140, hours: Mon - Thur, 8am - 4:30pm; Fridays, 8am - Noon.

Amtrak parking

(Not available during Arts, Beats & Eats Festival-Labor Day Weekend Friday-Monday)

A section of meters in the Sherman Dr. parking lot (across the street from the bus station) has been designated for those people riding the Amtrak train. A special Amtrak parking pass can be purchased from either the Treasurer’s Office at City Hall or at the kiosk (located at the base of the sidewalk going up to the platform) at a cost of $5.00 per day. Sundays & Civic Holidays are FREE.

Permits may also be purchased at the kiosk in the Sherman lot adjacent to the train station.
