Adult - Athletic Leagues
Team registration is handled in the Recreation office at the Department of Public Service. Registration for most leagues is done six to eight weeks prior to the start of the season.
- Men: Softball,
- Women: Softball 55+, Soccer 35+, Volleyball
- Coed: Softball

Youth - Athletic Leagues
A volunteer Board of Directors in co-operation with the Recreation Department manages the following youth athletic programs:

ROYFT: (Royal Oak Youth Football Teams)
The City has 2 youth football and cheerleading teams serving the youth of Royal Oak. They participate and are part of the OMYFA-Oakland Macomb Youth Football Association.
Registration for fall football and cheerleading will be held at the Royal Oak Senior Center on Marais and is usually in May (Check the ROFL website for current information). www.royft.com

The Royal Oak Sandlot League (ROSL) offers leagues for softball and hardball. Practices begin in May and the season ends in late July. Youth who live in the City of Royal Oak or attend a school in the City of Royal Oak (public or private) are eligible to participate.

The indoor, bubble-domed structure has been operating in Royal Oak for several years. The facility offers soccer leagues, camps, clinics and tournaments for soccer players from age 4 to 40 and older.
