Animal Shelter

Our goals are to provide a safe haven for lost animals or animals given up by their owners; to reunite lost animals with their human companions, and to provide the best possible adoptions of available animals into the home best suited to their personalities.

Featured Pet of the Week

My name is Chica! I was a stray and no one claimed me, so I am now looking for a new home! I am fully vetted and the vet thinks I'm about 7 years old. I haven't been around the other animals here, so if you have a dog, please bring him or her to meet me! I am a very happy and loving girl. I love my daily walks, and getting lots of treats! I am a sweetheart waiting patiently to meet you!

Chica is house trained, is spayed & neutered and all her shots are current.

For more information about adopting Chica, visit the Royal Oak Animal Shelter at 1515 N. Edgeworth, or phone the Shelter at: 248-246-3364.

The Animal Shelter is a member of the ROOTS Foundation, established by the city to accept donations and endowments for the improvement of civic institutions.  Donations and bequests may be designated for specific projects at the Animal Shelter.
